Ron Paul: An Interesting choice for a short term fix?

Ron Paul is a very interesting and polarizing figure. One I have definitely held mixed feelings on. In 2008 I completly disliked him and his isolationist anti-miltary rhetoric. Since 2008 Myself and many fellow conservative's have had a "fiscal awakening". The debt has become so imsurmountable with the recent growth of the government and its subsiquential socialist approach. Ron Paul would be a drastic change oppposite of the leftist direction the country has been in. Drastic times take drastic measures, am I and many other American's ready to do what it takes and avoid Our governments impending insolvency?

This country feel under the doup of change.. and thus entered itsself down a road of Socialism.. a path the founders never intended for our nation. Barack Obama is a sheep in wolve's clothing. Thats all he has ever been, and is all he ever will be. He has made many many promises that to the average person in need sound great, glorious a "saving grace". But in reality they lead down the road to a larger more powerful government that strips us of our freedoms and liberties, and makes us lose what makes this country so darn special. Ron Paul calls for drastic change, but with him you would get what you get. He believes what he says (good or bad) and there is no grey area with this guy, and that is something I am looking for for the next leader of the free world.

So what is this drastic change he would provide? Well Ron paul has called for an Audit of the Federal Reserve... a measure that what provide true transparency and prove the fraud that is our federal governement. It would prove the dollar has now became such a joke, and show the insanity of how the government freely spends, and wastes! He would also call for the abolishment of the U.S. Department of Education. Now.. alot of you would hate me for supporting this.. but I like Ron Paul am a Constitutionalist and there is never been anything in it that calls for the Federal government to be involved in education. Leave this to the states, and as first intended let them succeed and fail on their own accord. This type of fiscal responsiblity will allow for future generations to have a fiscal future. On this current road Our Children will not live as good as we did. We must right this downtradden road and become more fiscally responsible. Ron Paul is a crazy answer but just could be the start to a fiscal revolution. I am willing to put some of the social issues I hold so dearly on the back burner if we can just give Our wonderful nation a chance at the future. Of which right now we do not have! I disagree with a lot of what Senator Paul say's but when it comes to fixing our finiacial situation there couldn't be a more important issue, and he doesnt take the normal responce.. he takes the drastic angle which is what is necessary at this point. I will keep my eyes peeled, could I support Ron Paul for President? I am not positive but it is something I am willing to consider. You should too.. conservatism.. constiutionalism... and American Exceptionalism could all be at risk!

My view on concealed carry

Concealed Carry on campus is a huge debate with Texas public schools right now. The threats of shootings have increased in the year 2010. Concealed Carry on Campus is the idea where students over the age of 21 can carry a law-approved gun on their person, on the premises of an Education Institute owned by the State. The idea of the Concealed Campus Bill was after the Virginia Tech shooting, which students began to say that “Gun Free” campuses don’t work. I believe that concealed carry should surely be allowed on campuses of state schools, to better protect not only the carrier, but the students and faculty at the University as well. The University of Texas had their most recent gun threat in September 28th 2010 where the gunman took his own life but thankfully no one else’s. In 1966, at the University of Texas Charles Whitman used the Observational Tower to murder 16 people, along with wounding 30 others with his gun. Do you think if any of those victims were licensed to carry a gun on campus would the numbers be high? Would there be any numbers at all? No one knows. This bill is about having people, some already responsible to carry a handgun in everyday places, such as malls, grocery stores, movie theaters, restaurants, churches and so on, to continue the responsibility on campus. It is a civic duty to protect ourselves, and our fellow citizens around us. What is the difference on campus? We are all students, tomorrow’s future, learning to better the world, and better our own lives. Do we want someone to take that opportunity away from us? Because they are not happy with their own lives? Or on some sort of psychotic break and ruin the rest of our lives. Granted, it’s not very common, that is the rebuttal in this argument. If it’s rare then why make it more frequent by allowing them on campus? Because people that go through the classes, training and all the hassle to obtain the carry on, is to give them the right to bear arms, to protect themselves, classmates and the ones they care for. The overall honesty about Carry on Campus, is that we don’t know. We don’t know what the effects are going to be once it is allowed, we don’t know if it’ll help or only worsen the tragic outcomes over the years. That is why it is a huge debate, is because the human emotion of uncertainty is all around this debate. It wouldn’t hurt to try and have faith in our citizens and fellow students. The campus and city police can only do so much and be in so many places. We have a responsibility as well as them to protect one another. It’s about trust, and our natural right to bear arms responsibly. Concealed carry is about a right to protect oneself and it is a natural right to the American people and it should be practiced no matter what the stupid liberals say and it doesn't protect anybody.

House Speaker John Boehner to President Obama: 'Come on! Time to Grow Up' About Deficit and Taxes

In this article it talks about being honest with the American people. It primarily focuses on President Obama. I know a lot of people get tired of hearing Obama this, Obama that, but truth is, it's the truth. House Speaker John Boehner of Ohio, get's along with Obama, even tho their of different parties. He is very disappointed in Obama for givin a speech on the deficit reduction to the American people and not being completely honest about it all. The main topic he was addressing was bipartisan deficit commission, and the president was issuing a controversial report the year before saying he was recommending spending cuts, tax reforms and other republican theories. He is upset about Obama. He took exactly none of his own deficit reduction commission's ideas. He quoted, "Come on! It's time to grow up and get serious about the problems that face our country." He didn't tell the american people how bad it really is getting in our nation. He is sugar coding everything. That is not good. How can us as the American people get anything done if it is all hidden from us and sugar coded. Obama is hiding something, and he should not have been elected president. Did Bush make the best decisions? No he did not. Was he the greatest president to ever preside? Not even close. But what's done has been done in his term, and the 'change' everyone voted Obama for is happening, but not in a good way. Obama is leading the nation in an even worse direction than Bush did! If people were to blame everything on Bush for his presidency, is Obama making his 'mistakes' any better? No! Not at all! It's getting worse, and this democracy is heading towards communism. That is what Boehner is saying, be honest to the American people, like Obama was to him. What was the difference between Boehner and a normal American Citizen? There shouldn't be anything, except the fact that Boehner is a representative of Ohio, that is it. They should all be informed on the same things, because they both live in America, pay taxes and work in the same country. We are all citizens and there shouldn't be any excluded information held from the American people. It doesn't make sense, and shouldn't there be question raised from this? Do people want to be able to not afford to live? Honestly? You want to depend on the government? The Government doesn't not care at all about our needs, not one bit. They want power, and the people is where they get it from. Anyone stupid enough to think that the Government wants to help their people is an idiot. This is a nation founded on helping themselves and fighting against the brits and making a place for their ownselves. You think the Parliament would have helped them established their own nation? You got to be kidding me. This nation needs to provide for themselves and no one else. The end.

Modern Women, and Little Women

This is a response to this article demining women and women in movies and such, so i decided to chose the film "Little Women" to disprove the accusations in the article and explain thoroughly what the role in women were and are today

The classic film, Little Women is about the March family of four daughters, with a father off at war, and the mother left alone to raise these four miraculous women into adulthood. Each girl is prepared and determined to set out and make something of themselves in the world where the male gender dominated the land of scholarly pursuits. The eldest, Meg, (Trini Alvarado) the conservative woman, is prepared to marry a man, not for the money, but for the love deep in her heart. She ends up marrying a scholarly tutor Mr. John Brooke (Eric Stoltz), a poor, but perfectly decent man that gives her all the love she will ever want. The second eldest is the main character, Jo (Winona Ryder) is the wild and daring sister, destined to find out what she is put on this earth for, and also her true love. She marries the German Professor she met in New York, Friedrich Bhaer, (Gabriel Byrne) who lets her be the women she set out to find. The third eldest is Beth (Claire Danes), who is the firm foundation of the March family, and sadly dies of her previous scarlet fever several years earlier, from the heart effects. Her innocence brings the family together and recognizes the need of following your hearts desires. The youngest is Amy (played by Kirsten Dunst and Samantha Mathis) who finds herself while traveling in Europe, and marries their childhood friend Laurie (Christian Bale). Laurie is the ‘boy next door’ who brings out the equality between men and women, and enhancing the meaning of friendship. (Little Women, 1994).
This movie was a great inspiration to men and women, friends and families all around. It encouraged the need to always remember your roots, where you came from, and to never forget the family you left home, so the world can be discovered. Also, to follow one’s hearts desires, and not pretend to be someone the public wants a person to be, especially women.
I chose Jo March as the main character to analyze to two different theories in this paper. The first theory she relates too is Vygotsky’s Socio-cognitive theory. This theory explains how children start to communicate with themselves in the same way they do with others. This enhances their thinking ability to control their behavior. (Berk, 2010, p. 179). Jo March is a self starter, and often talks out loud to herself as a young child (early teens). This attribute encouraged her love to write plays and desire to become a writer. In order to develop this talent she had to acquire to this theory. Jo needed to first develop the speech skills in order to create such fantasies in her mind. She would be alone in the attic, dressed up in the character she wanted to write for, and her mind would then explore. Jo needed to develop the skills of language, conquer the challenge of her passion in writing as she got older. The skill is now known as Private Speech, which is children’s self directed speech. In Vygotsky’s argument, children need language to help them think about their mental activities and behavior and select their courses of action. (Berk, 2010, p. 180).

UNT students and mormon documentary.

The North Texas daily recently published an article where two UNT students created a documentary on Mormonism. They repeat that it is not a personal attack, just strictly informational. They continued on to say how Mormons were not Christians, grilling the LDS missionaries, innocent bystanders in Utah, it's disturbing. The reason why I'm so intrigued with this article, is because I am Mormon. Born and raised. Quite frankly I'm fed up with seeing so called 'documentaries' and bios on Mormon's and they're wrong doings. It's unprofessional and not Christlike dare i say it. They continue on saying they studied the Mormons, like they're the scientists and we are the animals in a controlled environment. Yes, there is a freedom of speech, but if Mormons respond, they get grilled, that's where the anger is coming from.I don't understand why people attack mormons so much? I mean what have the LDS church done to anyone to harm? It doesn't make sense. It didn't help my views on UNT when this was published, it actually was very upsetting that an article was released and singled out, out of all the religions practiced at the University of North Texas, mormons were excluded. I bet the students the go here, don't even realize that the President of UNT is a member of the LDS church. I didn't even know until the beginning of the spring semester that he was a member. I thought it was very interesting with the way things are led at this University. It is surprising because of all the protests, the faculty and students views are mostly far left, with their gay rights, abortion rights etc being preached around the campus. It's hard to believe that a LDS member is running the joint. Anyway, this article continues to try to prove the LDS church as a non christian church and they go on to say that this is just informational and not a swaying article. Well, my butt. That is crap and i tried to stay on track with this, and it never came out. I think it is humorous that it never came to recognization on campus. I wonder since the president is a member of the mormon faith, it had gotten stopped somewhere. It is time to take a stand. I have a feeling that if the president were muslim, that the publishing of that article would have been stopped, because it is 'discriminatory' toward them. How is that fair at all? That makes no sense. That is discriminatory to a religion, isn't muslim a religion? So is mormonism right? There's no difference when putting it in a generalist perspective, and i intend to fight it tooth and nail. I am a practicing mormon at the University of North Texas, and let me tell you, it is difficult being here with all the protests that go against your belief, against what you've been raised to go against, and not believe such as homosexuals, abortion, and any other liberal activist protests that goes on on campus.

My take on "A Modest Proposal" from a posted artilce

In Jonathan Swift’s satirical story, “A Modest Proposal,” Swift argues that the solution to poverty and prostitution would be to convert their society into cannibalism. Clearly, Swift is making this argument to draw attention to the mistreatment of the impoverished in Irish society and mocks the lack of government intervention in the matter. I believe this proposal causes attention to the poor and demands a change and a possible uprising from the poor, the women, the begging children, and force attention from the men that are responsible.
Swift starts out with proposing of change to the newborns. Malnourishment, and by the age of one, extermination. “…a child just dropped from its dam, may be supported by her milk for a solar year with little other nourishment; at most, not above the value of two shillings…”(Swift, 484). This starts the emotional uprising of the poor by threatening the lives and value of their children. It is there to open their eyes as to what the Government is causing and how their actions are valuing the children of Ireland. His sarcasm brings light that the Government views the poor as a “useless burden” and returns the favor by providing a horrible solution. In Louis Landa’s Journal article “A Modest Proposal and Populousness” she states “the people are the riches in a nation” even in Ireland. People meaning the citizens, not who they work for, being the Government. They can rise against the ridiculousness of poverty and begging and demand freedom and rights and attention. “…a portion of the population is a useless burden and that under certain condition useless people could become a source of wealth to the nation.” (Landa, 162). Only the people have the opportunity to change, a riot is needed to regain their wealth and reputation of the nation of Ireland.
Continuing on throughout the text, Swift introduces the idea of eating the young children for nourishment and depletion of ‘burdens’. “…a young healthy child, well nursed, is, at a year old, a most delicious, nourishing, and wholesome food, whether stewed, roasted, baked, or boiled;” (Swift, 485). Swift makes it obvious in his proposal that the people of Ireland are indeed, not the richness of the nation. The way he is demining the children’s value, comparing them to “sheep, black cattle, or swine” (Swift 487). It’s a rhetorical tactic to wake the people up. “Swift seemed to be aware…of the contradiction in the mercantilist attitude that the wealth of a country was based on the poverty of the majority of it’s subjects.” (Landa 165). Swift doesn’t seem to believe that a reduction of the population solves the problem in Ireland. If he did, he wouldn’t be using cannibalism as a problem solving tactic, as his rhetoric sarcastic strategy. If he did, he would’ve suggested the popular move, immigration to the Americas. He mentions the benefits of Ireland by this crazy proposal, children being “ valuable” but not in the humanistic way, in a trade way. “[children] can help pay their landlord’s rent; their corn and cattle being already seized, and money a thing unknown.” (Swift 487). He then goes on to put a money price on the children, what they’d be worth, but does not mention how the population would decrease.

Love story

e went to Central, graduated in 2008, we had the same grapevine of friends, our paths crossed, and we became friends. Our relationship started out via texting and facebook. Just talking here and there, a growing interest began between us, and Kyle still says he instantly fell in love with me. I was a senior in high school, he was a sophomore at Texas Tech, and was home on winter break. We first hung out at Brunswick, i brought my best friend Shelby, and my cousin Kyle with me, because i was nervous, I never hung out with Kyle before, I was awkward when it came to the dating scene, I didn't know left from right when it came to this kind of stuff, so i brought the people who knew what they were doing. We played pool, relaxed, and Kyle hardly looked me in the eye, I could tell he was so nervous, I thought it was cute, I was curious about this guy, who he was, and why he liked me, and I wanted to further explore this man.
We talked for a while, but it was just talking, I wanted more, but didn't know how to ask or 'motion' for it. Well, Kyle,....he sure didn't do anything. So i kinda gave up. Then one day I woke up at 2 o' clock in the morning with a facebook message sent to my phone, and i still have it :), saying that he is sorry that he is so stupid and awkward, and he would be honored if I went on a date with him. I texted him the next morning and glady said yes :)
December 14th, 2009
This is hilarious. I never told my parents about Kyle and I, because I was afraid they wouldn't let me date him because I'm supposed to 'casual date'. So I was off work that day, i got all dolled up, and everything! My mom was getting ready to go to the At&t store with my uncle to get an iphone for my aunt's birthday. I told Kyle I would meet him there, you know, to cover my tracks (another way i messed up the date, i felt bad for him, cause it took his moxy away) and i drove to Casa Rita's, right off of western center. I got there a little early, nervous as heck. I got out of the car to sit on the patio, and realized, the At&t store is right NEXT DOOR! I panicked, and ran for the car and drove in the next parking lot, which was Zios. I called Kyle and told him to meet me there. Being the amazing guy that he is, he just smiled and said, "I'm just glad I'm on a date with you." :)
He took me to another mexican resteruant, Los mojcajetes, and then Bear creek park afterwards. It was amazing and I wanted more.
We talked everyday, hung out frequently, and I became more nervous. I've never been in a relationship like this before, everything was new to me. The New Years weekend was approaching, and Kyle was going to go out of town with his parents to San Antonio for a Texas Tech game. We didn't have much time, cause after that, he would go back to Lubbock. My cousin Tara Field was visiting, and she insisted on meeting Kyle. I sadly had to work that night, till ten. So we wanted to go out to ihop with him aftewards. OF COURSE, my dad said no. So we improvised. Kyle came and him and Tara and I, walked around the neighborhood. Right before this, I told Tara, that I was ready for him to ask me out, but I was scared. She was ecstatic. After our walk, Tara runs inside, leaving me and him alone. I get nervous and run in to join her. Tara got so upset she took my phone and called him back. She said, "We're hungry, can we give you money and get us some jack in the box?" Sure enough he turned around and got us food. Tara ran in, and left us alone again. Sure enough, he asked me to be his girlfriend on December 30th, 2009. :) Tara didn't even eat the food!
It was amazing, and the hardest things i've ever done. I would see him every other weekend. Kyle would drive 5 hours, every two weeks, for six months, to see me. I was in love. I told him about my background, being Mormon, and said that this isn't changing, and I hoped he could be accepting. More so than i could imagine! He started investigating the church, and long story short, was baptized April 17th, 2010.
